REGISTERING TO VOTE AND VOTING DATES
IN UE STATES — ONLINE AND OFFLINE

Please refer to the following list to determine the voter-registration deadline for your state and find more information about how and where to register to vote. On-line registration is possible in most states also — information is available at www.vote-smart.org, the web site for Project Vote Smart, a non-partisan, non-profit organization. The Project Vote Smart web page also includes detailed state-by-state information on the voter registration and voting process, including information on absentee voting procedures. Look for the “Voter Registration” section at the top of the home page.

Also try the League of Women Voters website at www.lwv.org. This site has a Spanish version also. There are several other on-line voter registration web pages, such as www.rockthevote.org or www.congress.org. Some will work better than others depending on your computer, so try several if you need to.

OTHER SOURCES
OF INFORMATION

Call Project Vote Smart toll-free at 888-868-3762 or at 406-859-8683 and they will assist you. In almost every state, voter registration forms and information may be found at public libraries, state or local government offices, and some post offices. In the front of your local phone book consult the “government pages” and call your city hall, county or township office to ask for information on voter registration. Your best bet is to call or visit your nearest public library and ask for assistance if needed.

Note: Every effort has been made to ensure accuracy, although some information may have changed.
