District 2 Officers
The officers and executive board of District 2 take the oath of office
from Genl. Pres. John Hovis at the conclusion of the council meeting in Glens Falls, N.Y.
Oct. 16-17. Delegates backed the UE Convention’s call for retirees’ committees
and honored three recent retirees — Bernie Leonka, Web Chapman and Mary Hudak, all
long-time officers of host Local 332. (They were business agent, president and financial
secretary, respectively.) The officers of Locals 506 and 618 traveled from Erie, Pa. to
honor their General Electric co-workers. Hovis addressed the council meeting, as did
retired Intl. Rep. Ed Bloch, the secretary of the New York Labor Party.
