A National
Labor Relations Board (NLRB) administrative law judge has issued a scathing decision against TEMCO as a blatantly
law-breaking, union-busting employer.
The trial, which began on July 9th, 2001was based on a formal complaint issed by7 the Labor Board into more
than 50 allegations that the Electric Materials Company (TEMCO) in North East repeatedly broke U.S. Labor Law.
The company ahs been ordered to make restitution to its employee and to bargain with the union in good faith. You
can help by urging the company to abide by the law in the future and bargain a decent first UE contract.

Union leaders have been fired, disciplined and harassed. Bargaining for a first union contract has
dragged on for more than a year. The company has even called in the FBI in an apparent attempt to intimidate union activists.
TEMCO was a family-owned copper mill, employing around 250 people in the small town of North East,
Pennsylvania. It wasnt a bad place to work until it was bought by the big United Stars Holding of Wisconsin.
Since then, when the bosses havent been slashing benefits, theyve been slashing away at our
rights. A hearing on more than 50 alleged violations of federal labor law began July 9th.
How You Can Help
Please contact management at TEMCO and United Stars and tell them to respect our rights and bargain a
contract with our union, the United Electrical, Radio & Machine Workers of America, UE Local 684.
Join us in taking a stand for the rights of all American workers.
