Getting to and from the Hotel ...

We've arranged special discounted transportation to and from the hotel for delegates, alternates, guests and staff.

Unlike previous conventions, there are no inexpensive ground transportation options for getting from the airport to the hotel. The hotel does not provide this service, nor are there any reasonably-priced alternatives. The average cost for a one-way trip is $45.

We've arranged a special round-trip fare of $25/person with the "Carolina Livery Service Company." Here's how it works:

  • Shuttle Dates: Saturday, September 14th and Thursday, September 19th (no service on any other days).

  • Go to: Airport Ground Transportation — Purple Ground Transportation Zone (also called Zone 9) unless you are flying American Airlines. If you are flying in on American Airlines, wait at the airport's taxi stand.

  • Look For: One of two 25 seat busses, identified with the "Carolina Livery Service Company" name. We will have UE signs in the windows as well. If no busses are waiting, please be patient — they are on their way to or from the hotel. The trip normally takes about 1/2 hour in each direction.

  • Don't Pay the driver! Do pay the $25 round/trip per-person charge (for yourself and any guest traveling with you) when you register as a delegate/alternate for the convention. Sorry, there is no discount for "one-way" travel. Cash or checks only (sorry, no credit cards).

  • Flight Late? This should not be a problem. The company knows the flight you'll be arriving on and is prepared to maintain service through midnight on Saturday.

IF YOU DID NOT PRE-ARRANGE FOR THIS SERVICE: Take the shuttle; you'll need to pay $25 for the shuttle service at registration.
